About the role#
Bird Construction is seeking a Student Project Coordinator for a 4-month co-op position starting in September 2026. This role provides an opportunity to independently manage specific areas of responsibility while receiving guidance from a supervisor and technical mentor. Interns will work on active construction projects to help develop professional strengths in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate drawings and manage specific scopes and trades.
- Participate in project meetings and monitor manpower productivity.
- Update project schedules, including creating manual and graphical schedules.
- Verify site conditions against drawings and perform quantity takeoffs.
- Supervise sub-trade work and coordinate site activities.
- Conduct deficiency walks, update logs, and issue warranties.
- Maintain project documentation, including progress photos and as-built drawings.
- Layout site lines and grades using total station equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction program.
- Completion of at least one semester of education following the internship.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to lead and operate effectively in a frequently changing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- A sense of urgency and a commitment to achieving goals.
- Ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships.
- Proof of residency or a valid work permit for Bird Construction.
- Submission of a current transcript with your application.
- Potential requirement to complete pre-employment medical or drug and alcohol testing for specific client sites.
