About the role#
This internship provides students with hands-on experience in mechanical installations for institutional facilities, hotels, and hospitals. You will work alongside project managers and departmental staff to gain practical insight into utility system construction. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Assist teams with project management, estimating, and business operations.
- Gather information to create and maintain files, databases, reports, and project schedules.
- Prepare presentations and reports as requested.
- Attend jobsite and departmental meetings to learn company policies and procedures.
- Participate in company learning experiences, including jobsite tours, safety inspections, and orientations.
- Complete a master checklist of goals to guide your internship experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related business major.
- Reliable daily transportation to the work site.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- A detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks.
- Ability to perform light physical work, such as moving objects up to 20 pounds or climbing stairs, as required by jobsite visits.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Charlotte, North Carolina, or in Houston or Coppell, Texas.
- This is a paid internship.
- Travel to job sites or office locations is expected to be 0-5 percent of the time.
