About the role#
As a Construction Intern at Bernhard, you will gain hands-on experience with mechanical installations for hospitals, hotels, and institutional facilities. This role is designed to help you further your education while contributing to real project operations. You will work under the supervision of project managers and departmental staff to learn company procedures and industry standards.
What you'll do#
- Create a master checklist of goals to guide your internship and support your final evaluation.
- Assist departments with project tasks, estimating, and business operations.
- Collect information and maintain files, spreadsheets, databases, and project schedules.
- Prepare reports and presentations as required.
- Attend departmental and jobsite meetings to observe project progress.
- Participate in learning experiences, including orientations, jobsite tours, and safety inspections.
- Study meeting notes and company policies to understand our work methods.
- Provide feedback on your experience during an exit interview.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- Major in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related business field.
- Reliable daily transportation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with daily supervision.
- A detail-oriented approach with the ability to multitask.
- A positive attitude and the initiative to tackle various projects.
- Respect for tools and equipment, with a focus on safety.
- Ability to perform duties outside of your primary scope when necessary.
Location & details#
- Location: Glenolden, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
- Travel: Up to 5% of the time to job sites or office locations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for prolonged periods, climb stairs, and move objects up to 20 pounds.
