About the role#
Bernhard is hiring a Construction Intern to support mechanical installation projects for hospitals, hotels, and institutional facilities. This role offers students the chance to gain practical experience in utility system construction while working alongside project managers and departmental staff. The internship follows a rolling schedule.
What you'll do#
- Create a master checklist of goals to guide your internship and track progress.
- Assist teams with project tasks, estimating, and business operations.
- Collect data and update files, spreadsheets, databases, and project schedules.
- Prepare reports and presentations as required.
- Attend departmental and jobsite meetings to learn company policies and procedures.
- Participate in orientations, jobsite tours, and safety inspections.
- Perform tasks under the supervision of project managers or other staff.
- Complete an exit interview to provide feedback on your experience.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- Major in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Reliable daily transportation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with daily supervision.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- A professional attitude and the initiative to complete tasks with urgency.
- Respect for tools, equipment, and safety protocols.

- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
- Travel: Up to 5% travel to job sites or office locations may be required.
- Physical requirements: Ability to work at a desk for long periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 20 pounds.
