Construction Intern

About the role#

As a Construction Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in mechanical installations for hospitals, hotels, and institutional facilities. This role is designed for students who want to bridge their academic studies with practical experience in utility system construction. You will work under the supervision of Project Managers and other staff to support daily operations and project goals.

What you'll do#

• Create a master checklist of expectations and goals to guide your internship and evaluation.
• Assist departments with project tasks, estimating, and business operations.
• Collect information and maintain project documentation, including files, spreadsheets, databases, and schedules.
• Prepare reports and presentations as required.
• Attend departmental and jobsite meetings to learn company policies and procedures.
• Participate in learning experiences like safety inspections, jobsite tours, and orientations.
• Work on special tasks and projects alongside the team.
• Provide feedback on your experience during an exit interview.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited university as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related business field.
• Reliable transportation to get to work daily.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative with daily supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Punctuality and a positive attitude toward colleagues and work.
• Respect for tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Capacity to multitask and handle duties outside the primary scope of work when necessary.
