About the role#
Bernhard is hiring a Construction Intern to support mechanical installation projects for hospitals, hotels, and institutional facilities. This role is designed for students who want to gain practical experience in utility system construction while working alongside project managers and departmental staff.
What you'll do#
- Create a master checklist of goals to guide your internship.
- Assist with project estimating, business operations, and special tasks.
- Collect data and maintain files, spreadsheets, databases, and project schedules.
- Prepare reports and presentations.
- Attend departmental and jobsite meetings.
- Participate in company learning experiences, including jobsite tours and safety inspections.
- Study company policies and procedures.
- Provide feedback on your experience during an exit interview.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university studying Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related business major.
- Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior classification.
- Reliable daily transportation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with daily supervision.
- Punctuality and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Respect for tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Location & details#
- Location: Los Angeles, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Travel: 0 to 5 percent of time may be spent at job sites or office locations.
- Physical requirements include sitting at a desk, climbing stairs, and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
