About the role#
This internship is for students interested in mechanical installations for hospitals, hotels, and institutional facilities. You will work alongside our teams to gain practical experience and further your education in the utility system construction industry. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Create a master checklist of goals to guide your internship and help with your final evaluation.
- Support departments and teams with project tasks, estimating, and business operations.
- Collect information to create and update files, documents, spreadsheets, databases, reports, and schedules.
- Prepare reports and presentations.
- Attend departmental and jobsite meetings.
- Work under the supervision of a Project Manager or departmental staff.
- Participate in learning experiences like jobsite tours and safety inspections.
- Study company policies and procedures.
- Provide feedback during an exit interview at the end of your term.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- Major in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related business field.
- Reliable daily transportation.
- Punctuality and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently with daily supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- A focus on safety and respect for tools and equipment.
- Understanding of the industry and our competitors.
Location & details#
- Location: Coppell, Texas.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Physical requirements: This role involves office work at a desk and occasional travel to job sites (up to 5%). You may need to climb stairs, stand or sit for long periods, and move objects up to 20 pounds.
