About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship based in Boston for Summer 2027. You will join the Commercial Property team to gain hands-on experience in risk assessment, policy structuring, and portfolio management. The role involves working alongside underwriters, risk engineers, and claims professionals to support business decision-making and protect client assets.
What you'll do#
- Analyze commercial property exposures to learn how underwriters assess, price, and structure insurance solutions.
- Assist with underwriting research, portfolio analysis, and strategic projects.
- Gain exposure to industries such as manufacturing, real estate, healthcare, education, and hospitality.
- Collaborate with fellow interns across North America.
- Present your findings and recommendations through a capstone project at the end of the summer.
- Learn the fundamentals of catastrophe exposure, including hurricane, earthquake, and flood risk.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in math, including comfort with statistics, probability, and financial principles.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player and communicate clearly.
- Adaptability and a self-motivated approach to learning.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and comfort working with data are preferred.
- Interest in insurance, underwriting, and market trends.

- Compensation: $22 to $26 per hour, based on skills and experience.
