Tax Intern

About the role#

Bennett Thrasher is seeking candidates for a Summer 2027 Tax internship. This role provides experience across several areas of tax, offering responsibilities similar to those of a first-year staff member. You will work with various clients and collaborate with associates across the firm.

What you'll do#

• Prepare tax returns accurately and efficiently, using feedback to improve performance.
• Calculate income tax projections and estimates for clients.
• Conduct research, analysis, and summarization of financial information.
• Analyze accounting records and financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting standards.
• Demonstrate an understanding of accounting and auditing theory in daily tasks.
• Maintain and organize client files according to firm standards.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to provide quality client service.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A commitment to professional and client service excellence.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week.
