Audit Intern - Spring 2028

About the role#

Bennett Thrasher is seeking an Audit Intern for the Spring 2028 term in Denver, Colorado. This internship provides exposure to financial reporting and assurance services across various industries. Interns are given responsibilities similar to those of a first-year staff member, including direct interaction with clients and collaboration with firm leadership.

What you'll do#

• Demonstrate knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and theory.
• Develop an understanding of the firm's audit approach and apply it to assigned sections.
• Document working papers clearly and adequately.
• Review data related to material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures.
• Develop and perform effective analytical procedures on account balances.
• Assist in preparing and proofing financial statements and other documents.
• Plan and perform operational and financial audits to ensure financial statements are presented in accordance with GAAP.
• Utilize current technology and software to research technical accounting issues.

What you'll need#

• Currently working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week.
