About the role#
Bellefaire JCB offers a clinical internship for counselor trainees during the Winter 2027 term. You will work under the supervision of a clinical supervisor and alongside a team of licensed professionals. This role involves providing care to youth and families across various programs, including mental health units, foster care, and independent living settings. You will gain experience in evidence-based treatments, such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), while working with clients facing mental health and substance abuse issues.
What you'll do#
- Perform biopsychosocial assessments and create treatment plans.
- Lead individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
- Work with your treatment team to track client progress and plan ongoing care.
- Help design therapeutic groups for clients in Day Treatment.
- Support crisis intervention and help clients resolve problems.
- Complete necessary documentation like termination reports and aftercare plans.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's program for SWT, CT, LPC, MFT, or LSW.
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to work on-site, including some evening hours.
