Domestic Violence Services Intern

About the role#

The Domestic Violence Services Intern supports the Proteus program, an Intimate Partner Abuse Education Program (IPAEP) focused on teaching individuals how to build safe, respectful relationships. This role is unpaid and designed for students seeking college credit. Interns will gain exposure to social reeducation, prevention, and the dynamics of domestic violence, power, and control.

What you'll do#

• Participate in IPAEP groups, including guided co-facilitation and course preparation.
• Collect and log data to measure participant success.
• Compile reports for official referral sources.
• Utilize BHN technology and systems to perform duties.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s program in a related field, such as Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Public Health, Nursing, Human Resources, or Business Administration.
• Reliable transportation to attend groups in Springfield, Ware, and Athol, MA.
• An interest in domestic violence, social justice, criminal justice, social work, or helping others.
• A willingness to participate in guided co-facilitation and course preparation.
• Ability to effectively collect and log data.

• Location: Ware, Massachusetts (with travel required to Springfield and Athol, MA).
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Term: Rolling.
• Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
