LADC - Intern

About the role#

As a Counselor Intern at Behavioral Health Group, you will work under the guidance of experienced counselors to assist patients in achieving a drug-free existence. You will help patients identify personal strengths and set social, educational, and occupational goals while adhering to state and federal regulations for addiction counseling.

What you'll do#

• Conduct group counseling sessions as required.
• Orient new patients to treatment program operations and procedures.
• Maintain complete and organized patient records.
• Provide crisis intervention and support services.
• Collaborate with case-management services for appropriate referrals.
• Support new patients with intake and readmission services, including follow-up counseling.
• Attend and complete all required trainings.
• Ensure prompt and regular attendance at the assigned work location.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Substance Use and Treatment program.
• Currently pursuing counseling licensure, with the intent to use internship hours to meet licensure requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Location: Woodbury, Minnesota.
• Schedule: 5:30 am – 2:00 pm.
• Modality: On-site.
• Term: Rolling.
