LADC - Intern

About the role#

Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is seeking an LADC Intern to support patients in achieving a drug-free life. Working under the guidance of experienced counselors, you will assist patients in identifying strengths and setting social, educational, and occupational goals. This role requires adherence to state and federal regulations governing addiction counseling practices.

What you'll do#

• Conduct group counseling sessions.
• Orient patients to treatment program operations and procedures.
• Maintain complete and organized patient records.
• Provide crisis intervention and support services.
• Collaborate with case-management services for referrals.
• Support new patients with intake, readmission, and follow-up counseling.
• Ensure prompt and regular attendance at the assigned work location.
• Attend and complete all required trainings while complying with regulatory requirements.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Substance Use and Treatment program.
• Currently pursuing counseling licensure, with the intent to use internship hours to meet licensure requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
• Ability to manage variable workloads and perform in a medical office environment.

Location & details#

• Location: Brainerd, Minnesota.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: 5:30 am – 2:00 pm.
• Status: Paid internship; full-time or part-time options available.
