About the role#
Beacon Specialized Living offers a clinical internship focused on residential behavioral health. You will gain experience providing supervised support to children and adults with complex behavioral health conditions, autism, and severe mental illness. This role helps you build core competencies in a therapeutic environment while contributing to daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Participate in weekly supervision to build clinical skills, reflect on your practice, and integrate feedback.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized crisis stabilization plans and provide direct crisis intervention when needed.
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including notes, group logs, and assessments, in line with agency standards.
- Review incident and event reports to identify patterns or risk factors and elevate concerns to supervisors.
- Model and uphold the organization’s core values in all clinical interactions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Ability to pass a drug test and required criminal background, central registry, and child abuse registry checks.
