About the role#
The Tax Intern Leadership Program (TILP) is a 20-week rotational internship designed to provide exposure to various tax lines including Core Tax Services, Private Client Services, and Specialty Tax Services. This full-time program offers a structured experience to help interns understand the technical and practical aspects of a career in tax.
What you'll do#
- Assist with developing and implementing methods to maximize client benefits and decrease current and future taxes.
- Ensure client compliance with all applicable authorities and firm policies.
- Utilize tax-related software, such as Caseware and Go Systems, to complete basic tax returns.
- Organize files and complete tasks to minimize rework by reviewers.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of technical taxation issues and opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of tax presentations for client meetings and perform quarterly estimates or extensions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master’s program in Accounting or Finance.
- Enrollment in a University Professional Program in Accounting or a similar curriculum.
- University vetting by faculty or a program director as part of the selection process.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA is preferred.
- Prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is preferred.
