Assurance Intern - Winter 2027

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by working alongside experienced team members to support our audit practice. This role involves participating in a structured training program to build your technical foundation while contributing to client engagements. You will have the opportunity to develop professional relationships and gain insight into our audit methodology and firm culture.

What you'll do#

• Participate in structured on-the-job training to build familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Assist with various stages of the audit process using BDO-specific methodology, tools, and templates.
• Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements and document work in working papers.
• Communicate with clients, customers, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Contribute ideas to audit teams and complete an assigned accounting or audit research project to present to a panel of professionals.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting (Masters degree preferred).
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
