About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to support BDO's audit practice. This role provides hands-on experience in audit methodology, problem-solving, and professional relationship building. You will participate in a structured training program designed to help you apply your academic background to real-world engagements.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program.
- Gain familiarity with BDO-specific audit methodology and assist across various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support functions to the audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients' customers, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
- Contribute ideas to the audit team and engage with team members' perspectives.
- Complete one assigned accounting or audit-related research project and present findings to a panel of professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting (Masters degree preferred).
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
