Tax Intern, Core Tax Services - Summer 2027

About the role#

This summer internship provides hands-on experience in Core Tax Services. Interns work under the supervision of experienced professionals to prepare tax returns and extensions, gaining insight into firm practices and client service. This is a full-time, paid position designed to help students bridge their academic background with professional tax practice.

What you'll do#

• Handle tax compliance tasks, including the preparation of quarterly estimates and extensions.
• Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
• Organize files and documentation to ensure accuracy and minimize rework.
• Utilize online research tools to gather tax information and monitor developments in tax law and client facts.
• Assist with components of income tax provisions and projections of year-end filings.
• Work with tax software to complete returns for review.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting or a relevant field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
