About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Winter 2028. You will work on-site in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, supporting our Core Tax Services team. This role offers hands-on experience with tax practices and helps you build professional relationships while working under the supervision of experienced tax professionals.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimates.
- Assist with responses to Internal Revenue Service notices and project year-end filings.
- Use tax software to complete simple returns and organize files to minimize rework.
- Ensure client data is collected correctly and complies with all filing requirements.
- Apply firm policies regarding FAS 109 and FIN 48 and assist with income tax provisions.
- Use online research tools to gather tax information and monitor tax law developments.
- Communicate tax developments to the client service team.
- Track impending due dates and engagement letters.
- Help develop and implement methods to maximize client benefits.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to prepare simple tax returns.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- Pursuing a masters degree in Accounting or a relevant field is preferred.
