Tax Intern, Core Tax Services

About the role#

The Tax Intern in Core Tax Services will support our client base by assisting with the preparation of tax returns and extensions. Under the supervision of experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on experience in tax practices while developing the professional relationships necessary for a successful career in accounting.

What you'll do#

• Ensure clients comply with all applicable tax authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
• Prepare simple tax returns using tax software applications for review by senior team members.
• Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
• Organize files and documentation to minimize rework during the review process.
• Perform quarterly estimates and prepare tax extensions.
• Monitor tax law developments and communicate relevant findings to the client service team.
• Assist with components of income tax provisions and projections of year-end filings.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
• Prior leadership experience is preferred.
