Tax Intern, Business Incentives Group - Summer 2027

About the role#

The Business Incentives Group (BIG) at BDO USA offers a unique opportunity for interns to gain hands-on experience in a national consulting practice. Interns support the firm’s mission to help companies identify and claim government incentives—such as the Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit—that promote innovation and economic growth. Throughout the summer, you will collaborate with professionals across tax, accounting, finance, and engineering to understand client operations and contribute to the firm's advisory goals.

What you'll do#

• Assist in the execution of multiple client engagements.
• Collaborate with BIG professionals on business strategy, process development, and marketing initiatives.
• Establish effective working relationships with BIG team members and other BDO employees.
• Contribute to the development of your own technical acumen and the firm’s market prominence.
• Assist in business development research and the identification of opportunities for new and existing clients.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, with a preferred focus in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Communications, or Law.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and basic research skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, manage multiple projects, and work both independently and within a team.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
