Tax Intern, Business Incentives Group

About the role#

The Business Incentives Group (BIG) at BDO USA offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a national consulting practice. As a Tax Intern, you will support efforts to help companies identify and claim government incentives—such as the Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit—that promote innovation and economic growth. You will work alongside professionals in tax, accounting, and finance, as well as clients in sectors ranging from technology and manufacturing to life sciences and healthcare.

What you'll do#

• Assist in the execution of multiple client engagements.
• Collaborate with BIG professionals on business strategies, process development, and marketing initiatives.
• Establish effective working relationships with team members across the firm.
• Contribute to the development of your own technical acumen and the firm's market prominence.
• Assist in business development research to identify opportunities for new and existing clients.
• Manage project tasks independently or within a group, ensuring deadlines are met with attention to detail.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, with a preferred focus in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Communications, or Law.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and basic research skills.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, is preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
