Tax Intern, Business Incentives Group

About the role#

The Business Incentives Group (BIG) internship at BDO USA offers hands-on experience within a national consulting practice. Interns assist companies in identifying and claiming government incentives, such as the Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit, designed to promote innovation and economic growth. You will collaborate with professionals across various business lines and interact with client innovation leaders in fields including engineering, software, and manufacturing. The program is designed to develop your skills in professional service, including project management, communication, and business development.

What you'll do#

• Assist in the execution of multiple client engagements.
• Collaborate with BIG professionals on service strategies, processes, and marketing initiatives.
• Establish effective working relationships with team members and BDO employees.
• Contribute to the development of your own technical acumen.
• Assist in business development research and identify opportunities for new and existing clients.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, with a preference for studies in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Communications, or Law.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and basic research skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, is preferred.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• Ability to work independently or within a group and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
