Core Tax Intern - Winter 2027

About the role#

The Core Tax Intern for Winter 2027 will support our tax services team by preparing returns and extensions under the supervision of experienced professionals. This role offers hands-on experience with firm practices and provides an opportunity to build professional relationships within the accounting industry.

What you'll do#

• Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities while working to minimize tax and reporting burdens.
• Utilize tax software applications to complete simple tax returns for review.
• Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
• Perform quarterly estimates and prepare extensions.
• Assist with the projection of year-end filings and components of income tax provisions.
• Monitor tax law and client factual developments on a regular basis, at least bi-weekly.
• Research tax information using online tools to help develop and implement methods that maximize client benefits.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field; a Masters degree is preferred.
• Actively pursuing school credits toward CPA eligibility.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions as directed.
