Core Tax Intern

About the role#

The Core Tax Intern position at BDO USA offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in tax services. Working under the supervision of experienced professionals, you will support our client base by assisting with the preparation of tax returns and extensions. This role is designed to provide you with a unique perspective on firm practices and help you build professional relationships early in your career.

What you'll do#

• Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities while working to minimize tax and reporting burdens.
• Utilize tax software applications to complete simple tax returns for review.
• Assist with responses to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
• Help with the projection of year-end filings.
• Organize files and complete tasks efficiently to minimize the need for rework by reviewers.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
• Actively pursuing school credits toward CPA eligibility.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• A preference for candidates pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting or a relevant field.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
