Assurance Intern - Winter 2027

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will apply your academic background and organizational skills to support our audit practice. You will work alongside experienced team members to assist with problem-solving and fact-finding, gaining hands-on experience with our firm's practices. This role includes a structured on-the-job training program designed to help you build professional relationships and develop your career.

What you'll do#

• Participate in structured training to become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Assist with various stages of the audit process using BDO-specific audit methodology.
• Provide support to audit staff during engagements.
• Communicate with clients' customers, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
• Contribute ideas to audit teams and complete an assigned accounting or audit research project for presentation to a panel of professionals.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting (Master's degree pursuit is preferred).
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
