Assurance Intern - Winter 2027

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will participate in a structured on-the-job training program to gain hands-on experience with audit methodology. You will work alongside experienced team members to assist in problem-solving and fact-finding for a diverse client base, while beginning to build professional relationships within the firm.

What you'll do#

• Participate in on-the-job training to become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Assist with various stages of the audit process using BDO-specific audit methodology, tools, and templates.
• Provide support functions to audit staff during engagements.
• Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Document work in working papers and contribute ideas to the audit team.
• Complete an assigned accounting or audit-related research project and present findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Actively pursuing school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, work effectively in a team, and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
