Assurance Intern - Summer 2027

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the accounting industry by working alongside experienced professionals. This role involves assisting with problem-solving and fact-finding for a diverse client base. You will participate in a structured training program designed to help you build professional relationships and develop the skills necessary for a successful career in audit.

What you'll do#

• Participate in on-the-job training to become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Apply BDO-specific audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Provide support to audit staff during engagements and contribute ideas to the team.
• Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
• Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present findings to a panel of professionals.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting.
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting and previous leadership experience are preferred.
