Assurance Intern - Summer 2027

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting our audit teams. This internship provides an opportunity to apply your educational background to real-world client engagements while working alongside experienced professionals who provide coaching and direction. You will participate in a structured training program and contribute to the firm's audit processes.

What you'll do#

• Participate in a structured on-the-job training program.
• Become familiar with BDO-specific audit methodology and tools.
• Provide support to audit staff during client engagements.
• Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Prepare and document work in working papers using firm templates.
• Contribute ideas and opinions to audit teams.
• Complete one assigned accounting or audit-related research project and present findings to a panel of professionals.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Pursuing a Master's degree in Accounting is preferred.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions as directed.
