Assurance Intern - Summer 2027

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting audit engagements and working alongside experienced team members. You will participate in a structured training program designed to build your foundational knowledge of accounting practices while contributing to real-world client projects.

What you'll do#

• Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to become familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Assist with various stages of the audit process by applying BDO-specific audit methodologies.
• Provide support functions to audit staff during client engagements.
• Communicate with clients, customers, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting is required; a Masters degree in Accounting is preferred.
• Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
