Assurance Intern - Summer 2027

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting our audit teams and working directly with a diverse client base. This role provides an opportunity to apply your academic background in a professional setting, receive coaching from experienced team members, and build relationships within the firm.

What you'll do#

• Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to build familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Assist with various stages of the audit process using BDO-specific audit methodology.
• Provide support to audit staff during engagements and document work in working papers using firm templates.
• Communicate with client representatives, including customers, creditors, and banks, regarding audit issues.
• Contribute ideas to audit teams and complete an assigned research project to present to a panel of professionals.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting and prior leadership experience are preferred.
