Assurance Intern - Summer 2027

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will participate in a structured on-the-job training program designed to build your foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). You will work alongside experienced team members to gain hands-on experience with audit methodology and contribute to the firm's client engagements.

What you'll do#

• Participate in structured training to develop technical accounting and auditing skills.
• Assist with various stages of the audit process by applying BDO-specific audit methodology.
• Provide support functions to audit staff during client engagements.
• Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
• Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
• Contribute ideas to audit teams and complete an assigned research project for presentation to Assurance professionals.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting.
• Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting with a positive, learning-oriented attitude.
• A Master's degree in Accounting and prior leadership experience are preferred.
