Assurance Intern

About the role#

As an Assurance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting our audit practice and working alongside experienced professionals. This role is designed to help you apply your academic background to real-world client engagements while building the professional relationships necessary for a successful career in accounting.

What you'll do#

• Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to build familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Assist with various stages of the audit process using BDO-specific audit methodology.
• Communicate with client stakeholders, including customers, creditors, and banks, regarding audit issues.
• Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
• Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
• Provide general support to audit staff during engagements.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting (Master's degree pursuit is preferred).
• Active pursuit of school credits toward CPA eligibility.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team setting.
