About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience by working alongside our audit teams. You will assist with problem solving and fact-finding while receiving coaching from experienced professionals. This role offers you a chance to build relationships and learn how our firm serves clients.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards.
- Get familiar with BDO audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support to the audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm-specific tools and templates.
- Share your ideas and opinions with your audit team.
- Complete an accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- A Masters degree in Accounting and previous leadership experience are preferred.
