About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to gain hands-on experience with audit practices. You will take part in a structured training program and contribute to client engagements while building professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Complete a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards.
- Support audit staff during engagements and become familiar with BDO audit methodology.
- Communicate with client contacts, including customers, banks, and creditors regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Share ideas and opinions with your audit team.
- Complete an accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required for CPA licensure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting and previous leadership experience are preferred.
