About the role#
Baylor University is seeking students to serve as STEAM Tutors for the Transformation Waco afterschool program. This role focuses on inspiring students through hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Tutors act as representatives of the University while working with community partners to support local educational initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Assist in working with external community service partners to support local programs.
- Plan, organize, and implement community services and educational activities.
- Provide customer service as a representative of the University.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all pertinent information.
- Support the development of community projects and outreach efforts.
- Prepare and present information in group or workshop settings.
- (For Lead Tutor roles) Mentor fellow tutors and assist with program development.
What you'll need#
- Passion for STEAM education and knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Mathematics.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage various tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to comply with all University policies and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Current enrollment in a relevant major, such as Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Communications.
