The Theatre Program Assistant supports the Theatre Director in teaching theatre concepts to children of varying skill levels. This role involves engaging with after-school programs and the broader community. This is an off-campus position requiring reliable transportation and Federal Work-Study eligibility.
What you'll do#
- Assist with theatre classes and lessons.
- Maintain theatre equipment and perform cleaning duties.
- Collaborate with volunteers.
- Engage with community members and youth participants.
What you'll need#
- Experience working with children and youth.
- Basic knowledge of theatre theory and principles.
- Practical experience in theatre, specifically in building sets and props.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a dedicated work ethic.
- Preference is given to students majoring in Theatre or Education, though Graphic Design, Art, Communications, Psychology, and Human Resources majors are also eligible.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: 15-20 hours per week. Availability is required during afternoons and early evenings, specifically Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour.
