Theatre Program Assistant - BC

About the role#

The Theatre Program Assistant supports the Theatre Director in teaching theatre concepts to children of varying skill levels. This role involves engaging with after-school programs and the broader community. This is an off-campus position requiring reliable transportation and Federal Work-Study eligibility.

What you'll do#

• Assist with theatre classes and lessons.
• Maintain theatre equipment and perform cleaning duties.
• Collaborate with volunteers.
• Engage with community members and youth participants.

What you'll need#

• Experience working with children and youth.
• Basic knowledge of theatre theory and principles.
• Practical experience in theatre, specifically in building sets and props.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a dedicated work ethic.
• Preference is given to students majoring in Theatre or Education, though Graphic Design, Art, Communications, Psychology, and Human Resources majors are also eligible.

Location & details#

• Location: Waco, Texas.
• Schedule: 15-20 hours per week. Availability is required during afternoons and early evenings, specifically Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour.
