About the role#
The Theatre Program Assistant supports the Theatre Director in teaching theatre to children. You will work with Mission Waco after school programs and the local community. This role requires Federal Work-Study eligibility and reliable transportation for off-campus work.
What you'll do#
- Assist with theatre classes and lessons.
- Maintain theatre equipment and tools.
- Work alongside volunteers.
- Perform cleaning duties as needed.
- Maintain a schedule that includes afternoon and evening availability.
What you'll need#
- Experience working with children and youth.
- Knowledge of basic theatre theory and principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A solid work ethic.
- Preferred: Majors in theatre, education, graphic design, art, communications, psychology, or human resources.
- Preferred: Experience building sets and props.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 15 to 20 hours per week, including afternoons, early evenings, and select Saturdays.
