About the role#
The Interactive Media & Language Center (iMLC) at Baylor University is seeking a student assistant for Summer I and Summer II sessions. This role supports students and faculty by managing the materials, technology, and facilities that support modern language programs.
What you'll do#
- Support faculty, staff, and students in the Modern Languages & Cultures department and promote language learning.
- Maintain printers, computers, and other technology to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Deliver excellent customer service to all visitors at the service desk.
- Create and post flyers, posters, handouts, and digital content to promote department programs.
- Assist with general business operations, administrative tasks, and special projects as assigned.
- Demonstrate strong technology skills and a willingness to develop new skills related to language-learning technologies.
What you'll need#
- Strong computer skills and an outgoing, helpful attitude.
- A willingness to learn and the ability to work independently.
- Preference is given to students who have qualified for Federal Work-Study.
- Preference is given to students with majors or minors in modern languages, international studies, or area studies, as well as those with foreign language experience.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas (Draper 356).
- Term: Summer 2026 (Summer I and Summer II sessions).
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $8.50 per hour.
