About the role#
The Interactive Media & Language Center (iMLC) at Baylor University is hiring a student assistant for the Summer I and Summer II sessions. You will support faculty, staff, and students by managing the spaces, technology, and materials that facilitate language learning. This role requires an outgoing and reliable person who can help visitors and handle daily operations in the center.
What you'll do#
- Support Modern Languages & Cultures faculty and students by promoting language learning tools.
- Maintain printers, computers, and other center technology to keep operations running smoothly.
- Deliver customer service to visitors at the service desk.
- Create and post flyers, handouts, and digital content to promote department programs.
- Handle general business operations and assist with assigned projects or administrative tasks.
- Work independently to prioritize tasks and take initiative on daily duties.
What you'll need#
- Strong computer skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- An interest in language study or prior foreign language experience.
- Preference is given to students with majors or minors in modern languages, international studies, or area studies.
- Preference is given to students who have qualified for Federal Work-Study and accepted their financial aid package.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance and follow university policies.
Location & details#
- Location: Draper 356, 1420 S. 7th St, Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- Term: Summer 2026 (Summer I and Summer II sessions).
- Compensation: $8.50 per hour.
- Modality: This is an on-site position.
