About the role#
This position supports the Urban REAP Program Coordinator in managing the Compost Program, Demo Gardens, and the Garden Center at Mission Waco. You will work 10 to 20 hours per week in an off-campus setting. Reliable transportation is required for this role.
What you'll do#
- Manage the Compost Club, including subscriber relations and bucket processing.
- Maintain the 3-bin compost system for educational purposes.
- Plan, plant, and maintain onsite Demo Gardens, including cultivating plants from seeds and propagations.
- Assist with inventory and displays in the Garden Center while greeting visitors.
- Create social media content to educate the public about Urban REAP.
- Collaborate with the Education Team to ensure garden and compost signage is accurate.
- Lead volunteers in garden and compost tasks.
What you'll need#
- Eligibility for Federal Work-Study.
- A background in Environmental Studies, Biology, Ecology, Horticulture, or Sustainable Agriculture.
- Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.

- Pay Rate: $11.00 to $12.50 per hour.
