Student Worker - Summer IT Help Desk Consultant (Law School)

About the role#

The IT Help Desk Consultant provides essential support to the Baylor Law School community. This role focuses on maintaining IT equipment, assisting students, faculty, and staff with technical inquiries, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Law Library help desk. You will manage multiple tasks while providing consistent customer service.

What you'll do#

• Troubleshoot common IT problems and respond to inquiries from the Law School community.
• Monitor and maintain printers, including checking for low ink or paper and resolving paper jams.
• Assist in setting up and taking down portable audio and video systems for classes and events.
• Update the IT Help Desk log on BOX with resolved issues and completed shift tasks.
• Manage lab cleanliness and organization, including tracking supplies like paper and toner.
• Provide general office assistance and handle special projects as assigned by department staff.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment at Baylor University as an undergraduate or law student.
• Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with common IT equipment and software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and adhere to university policies.

• Location: Sheila & Walter Umphrey Law Center, Law Library Help Desk, Waco, Texas.
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Flexible shifts available between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm on weekdays, and 11:00 am to 10:00 pm on Sundays.
• Note: Parking is not permitted in the Law School lot during operational hours.
