About the role#
This position serves as a primary caregiver and instructor for the Cyber Security Summer Camp. Counselors are responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading activities that help campers develop cybersecurity skills. The role involves working collaboratively with the camp staff team to ensure a safe and educational environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers during activities to meet intended program outcomes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of activities aligned with the camp mission.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety for all campers and staff.
- Serve as a role model for campers and staff by maintaining a positive attitude and professional behavior.
- Monitor camp equipment and facilities to ensure proper maintenance and safety.
- Provide daily care for campers, including recognizing personal health needs and addressing concerns with the Camp Director.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in cybersecurity or related program areas.
- Ability to interact effectively with youth and adults.
- Ability to relate to others in a positive manner.
- Physical ability to supervise campers, lift up to 20 pounds, and respond to emergency situations.
- Students pursuing majors in Cybersecurity or Computer Science are encouraged to apply.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Work site: BRIC - Cyber Range.
- Term: Summer 2026 (June 15, 2026, through June 26, 2026).
- Schedule: 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling 60 to 80 hours.
- Compensation: $17 per hour.
