About the role#
This position serves as a Cyber Security Summer Camp Counselor. You will act as a primary caregiver for campers, helping them develop cybersecurity skills while ensuring a safe and organized environment. You will work within the Vice Provost for Research department to plan, teach, and coordinate camp activities.
What you'll do#
- Supervise and organize campers during daily activities to meet program goals.
- Lead and assist with teaching cybersecurity activities and labs.
- Maintain health and safety standards for all campers and staff.
- Act as a positive role model through your attitude and behavior.
- Monitor equipment and facilities, reporting any maintenance needs to the Camp Director.
- Collaborate with the camp staff team to deliver events and supervise functions.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old or a high school graduate.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in cybersecurity or related program areas.
- Ability to interact effectively with youth and adults.
- Physical ability to supervise groups, provide instruction, and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental hazards or emergencies.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas, at the BRIC Cyber Range.
- Term: Summer 2026, specifically from June 15 to June 26.
- Schedule: 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling 60 to 80 hours.
- Pay: $17 per hour.
- This is an on-site, part-time position.
