    About the role#

    This position serves as a Cyber Security Summer Camp Counselor. You will act as a primary caregiver for campers, helping them develop cybersecurity skills while ensuring a safe and organized environment. You will work within the Vice Provost for Research department to plan, teach, and coordinate camp activities.

    What you'll do#

    • Supervise and organize campers during daily activities to meet program goals.
    • Lead and assist with teaching cybersecurity activities and labs.
    • Maintain health and safety standards for all campers and staff.
    • Act as a positive role model through your attitude and behavior.
    • Monitor equipment and facilities, reporting any maintenance needs to the Camp Director.
    • Collaborate with the camp staff team to deliver events and supervise functions.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be at least 18 years old or a high school graduate.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in cybersecurity or related program areas.
    • Ability to interact effectively with youth and adults.
    • Physical ability to supervise groups, provide instruction, and lift up to 20 pounds.
    • Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental hazards or emergencies.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Waco, Texas, at the BRIC Cyber Range.
    • Term: Summer 2026, specifically from June 15 to June 26.
    • Schedule: 8 AM to 5 PM, totaling 60 to 80 hours.
    • Pay: $17 per hour.
    • This is an on-site, part-time position.
