About the role#
The Nursing Learning Resource Center (NLRC) at the Louise Herrington School of Nursing is seeking a student worker to staff the 1st Floor Tech Point Desk. This role supports the daily operations of the center by assisting students and faculty with resources, equipment, and administrative tasks. This is a paid, part-time, on-site position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Staff the NLRC service desk, including checking in and out books, clinical equipment, kits, and models.
- Assist students and faculty with library catalogs, course materials, and electronic resources such as Canvas and PawPrints.
- Maintain printer stations by clearing jams and replenishing paper and toner.
- Orient new nursing students to NLRC resources and technology.
- Answer the NLRC phone and handle routine inquiries.
- Maintain equipment and supplies, including whiteboards and scanners.
- Perform other administrative duties as directed by the supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student, preferably in Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond promptly to user requests.
- Familiarity with Baylor print and electronic resources.
- Experience with library or educational tools is preferred.
- Ability to assist faculty and students with various technical and physical resources.
Location & details#
- Location: LHSON Academic Building, 1st Floor Tech Desk, Dallas, Texas.
- Schedule: Flexible shifts ranging from 1 to 4 hours, available Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
