About the role#
The Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at Baylor University is hiring a student worker to assist with daily operations in the main department office. This role involves administrative support, office maintenance, and project assistance. This is a paid, part-time position requiring 10 to 20 hours per week during regular business hours.
What you'll do#
- Assist faculty and staff with daily office requirements and various projects.
- Manage supply inventory, monitor workroom stock, and coordinate supply orders with the Office Manager.
- Maintain office equipment by managing copier and printer supplies.
- Sort incoming mail and distribute it to department mailboxes.
- Answer phone calls and greet department visitors.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks around the office and run necessary errands.
- Complete and submit timesheets accurately and on time.
What you'll need#
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a commitment to honesty.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Capability to perform administrative functions similar to an office manager or associate.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Human Resources, or Business Administration.

- Location: Old Main 275, Waco, Texas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Pay: $8.50 per hour.
