About the role#
This position supports the daily operations of the Meyer Center, a social services facility. The student worker assists staff with administrative tasks, data management, and client interaction. This role involves direct contact with individuals experiencing homelessness and requires a welcoming, professional approach to service.
What you'll do#
- Welcome and register clients in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) database, collecting information on housing, health, and employment status.
- Manage, assign, and supervise client chores at the center, including cleaning and administrative tasks.
- Assist the director with HMIS analytics to prepare monthly reports and support grant funding applications.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings for case workers, counselors, and program directors.
- Collect and analyze utilization data from the health clinic to support center operations.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in data collection, entry, and analysis.
- Strong clerical skills with a focus on attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and hospitality skills, with the ability to interact kindly with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Prior experience working with neighbors experiencing homelessness is preferred.
- Academic background in Public Health, Human Resources, Sociology, Psychology, or Business Administration is relevant to this role.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 10 to 20 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, between 6:00am and 5:00pm.
- Compensation: Paid position at $11.00 to $12.50 per hour.
