About the role#
This position supports the daily operations of the market garden and farm. You will work directly with the team to maintain the farm and engage with the community. This role is open to students in agriculture, environmental engineering, biology, public health, and marketing.
What you'll do#
- Harvest, plant, and weed in the market garden.
- Instruct volunteers and clients on sustainable agriculture and food justice.
- Support community outreach and educational programs.
- Prepare for and staff the Farmer's Market.
- Run routine errands for the farm.
- Learn about and communicate the mission and values of the organization.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Physical capacity to lift 50-100 lbs.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Previous experience with small-scale or regenerative agriculture is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026 and ongoing.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid at $12.00 per hour.
- Schedule: 8-20 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, with occasional Saturdays.
