About the role#
The Raising Texas Voices project studies how Texans with developmental disabilities and their families view their experiences, engage in advocacy, and prefer to learn advocacy skills. This research, based in the Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities, informs statewide strategies and outreach efforts. We are looking for students to help with recruitment, data collection, analysis, and the dissemination of our findings.
What you'll do#
- Conduct literature reviews and manage project data.
- Enter, clean, and prepare data for analysis.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data under researcher guidance.
- Contact organizations via phone and email to recruit partners and participants.
- Develop and format resources related to research findings.
- Attend regular project meetings.
- Participate in laboratory research, experiments, and testing.
- Maintain lab equipment and manage inventory.
- Assist with research documentation and the preparation of reports.
- Follow safety procedures and university policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Baylor student.
- Interest in recruitment, data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Capacity to follow university policies.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located at the Marr McLean Science Building in Waco, Texas.
- Employment is part-time and offered on a semester-by-semester basis.
