Student Worker - Human Sciences and Design Administrative Support

About the role#

The Department of Human Sciences and Design is seeking student workers to provide administrative support for daily operations. This role serves as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and visitors in the Goebel and Mary Gibbs Jones buildings. You will gain experience in office management, event support, and professional communication while contributing to various departmental projects.

What you'll do#

• Greet visitors and answer inquiries with professional customer service.
• Manage phones and provide general office assistance.
• Perform clerical tasks including filing, copying, sorting, and data entry.
• Contribute to departmental marketing and social media initiatives.
• Assist faculty and staff with program-specific tasks and special projects.
• Maintain organized and functional workspaces.
• Handle sensitive information while maintaining strict confidentiality.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment as a student, ideally in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Psychology.
• A dependable, proactive, and self-motivated work ethic.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining professionalism and regular, punctual attendance.
• Ability to comply with all university policies.

Location & details#

• Location: Mary Gibbs Jones building, Waco, Texas.
• Term: Fall 2026.
• Schedule: Minimum of 10 hours per week.
• Compensation: Paid position at $10 per hour.
