About the role#
This student worker position involves instructing FitWell Group X classes, including F45, at the McLane Student Life Center. You will work a minimum of 6 hours per week between 5:45 AM and 10:00 PM, Sunday through Saturday. This is a paid role for the Summer 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Plan and lead safe, effective group fitness classes.
- Monitor participants to ensure proper technique, posture, and movement.
- Maintain the safety, security, and cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
- Provide guidance on fitness and wellness questions.
- Assist with risk reduction and emergency response procedures.
- Deliver customer service to clients and visitors.
- Encourage the community to maintain an active lifestyle.
What you'll need#
- A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
- Ability to pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
- CPR certification (must obtain within 30 days of starting).
- Ability to motivate class members and work well in a team.
- While previous teaching or training experience is not required, it is preferred.
- Majors in Kinesiology, Health Administration, Nutrition, Public Health, or Real Estate are encouraged to apply.

- Pay rate: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour.
