About the role#
This position involves instructing and training FitWell Group X classes, including F45, within the campus recreation programs. The role focuses on promoting active and healthy lifestyles for the Baylor community while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
What you'll do#
- Plan, develop, and lead safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes based on recognized guidelines.
- Observe participants to ensure proper technique, posture, and movement for safety.
- Provide guidance and resources to members regarding routine fitness and wellness questions.
- Maintain the safety, security, and cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
- Collaborate with the team to execute risk reduction measures and provide care during emergency situations.
- Deliver excellent customer service to all clients and visitors.
- Assist with assigned tasks and participate in various health and recreation activities.
What you'll need#
- A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
- Ability to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
- Proven ability to motivate members during class.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to follow university policies.
- Previous teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.
- Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health.

- Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2027.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 6 to 20 hours per week, with hours varying between 5:45 AM and 10:00 PM.
