Student Worker - Fitness Instructor/Trainer(FY26-27) - BC

About the role#

This position involves instructing and training FitWell Group X classes, including F45, as part of the campus recreation programs. The role supports the health and wellness of the university community through active engagement and professional facility oversight.

What you'll do#

• Plan, develop, and lead safe and effective group fitness classes based on recognized industry guidelines.
• Observe participants to ensure proper technique, posture, and movement for safety.
• Provide guidance and resources to members regarding routine fitness and wellness questions.
• Maintain the security and cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to implement risk reduction measures and respond to emergency situations.
• Deliver excellent customer service to all clients and visitors.

What you'll need#

• A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
• Ability to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
• Proven ability to motivate members during class sessions.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to comply with university policies.
• While previous teaching or training experience is not required, it is preferred.
• Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health.

Location & details#

• Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: 6-20 hours per week, with availability between 5:45 AM and 10:00 PM.
• Term: Fall 2027 and ongoing.
